Y2K Statement
How we tested the hardware
We used NSTL's YMark2000 program to test our computers' BIOS (basic input-output services) and the computers' RTC (real time clock) if these guys will rollover properly from 31 dec 1999 to 01 jan 2000. They did. We checked if these guys will also recognize 2000 as a leap year. They do. We also downloaded several other programs to test our hardware and we passed them all.
And just to be safe we did a hard reboot of the computers right before and right after 2000 and results were positive.
How we tested the software
Before testing our software we surfed to all the websites of the programs we have looked for y2k statements. If we didn't find any then we'd ask them. If they do then we check for software updates and install them in our system. We then backed up everything and proceeded with the testing.
We didn't have any customized programs to toy with so testing was rather straightforward. We switched the clocks to the first week of 2000 and did our normal work. Everything went fine.
Still, we want to monitor the websites of the software we use just in case they come up with new y2k updates to their products.
